Today Dragonfly has flown into my life!  She teaches about the Dreamtime, seeing through and breaking down illusions that restrict one from realizing their dreams, and also helps a person to connect to the Elemental Spirits who are the guardians and forces of Nature. Often times Dragonfly signals a change is needed in a habit or perception in order to grow.  Dragonflies are found worldwide except in frozen polar areas, live around water, can fly very fast (up to 34mph!), but can not walk well.  They eat mosquitoes and other small insects and some cultures eat them, fried in oil!  When I was a kid, they were called "darning needles" and were rumored to sew up naughty childrens' lips.  Visiting my Mom and doing errands, along with needing to be home early will make this a super busy day.  On top of that, thunderstorms are in the forecast again so I am grateful Melissa will be here to care for the dogs.

End of day notes:  The hour drive to see Mom provided some reflection time about illusions in my life that could be slowing down my growth and I did come up with a few,  but no real surprises so far. I try to keep it real as far as me, myself and I go on a daily basis and be aware of small shifts and changes so I can examine them to see if they're taking me in the direction I want to go in.

As far as illusions about others, well that's tricky because I prefer not to pick most people apart too much and give them a break for being occasionally imperfect. I was also thinking how many times, whether I view something or someone in a postive light or not,  depends on my own mood. And my personal moral code.  I believe you can look at anything or anyone and see both dark and light.  Maybe not accepting that truth is part of what causes some illusions to be dangerous.  Of course, dark and light are also personal perceptions and as we say in the antiques business, one man's trash is another man's treasure.  I'll be curious to see if there are any dreams tonight so I won't count Dragonfly's lessons as being over until I wake up tomorrow.  Very thankful to Dragonfly either way for the reflections today!

Next morning notes:  I awoke to the words, "why would you want to pollute your body like that?".  And also had a dream wherein I was being forced by two mafia-like men to do some job for them for a few months and they did not like that I smoke or want me to smoke while there,  but I disagreed.  I guess it's clear how I feel about quitting, but have been working on cutting down and will continue to do so since it's expensive AND not great for the skin.  My naturopathic doctor thought less than a pack would be reasonable and that is my goal.
